Take that, "just relax"-ers!

A new report (via Stirrup Queens) confirms what we have known all along:

"All [the research] is saying is, whatever stress you are experiencing is not going to impact whether you get pregnant on that particular cycle."

  1. Yeah...but it will affect the big O, as I experienced last month. 45 days and no O...grrr, frustrating!
Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

  2. Yeah, the cycle I took the bar exam stress definitely affected my ovulation too. Thankfully that was the only time stress seemed to affect my cycle at all. I hope you have better luck this month!

  3. No shit! Thank goodness you found something you can put in your pocket and shove in the face of people who try to always say this. I will say that the iui I finally got pregnant on was the one I was most negative about and soooo cranky just knowing i was waisting away my money!! I was far from relaxed!! Annnnnd I was the most stressed about is little bean sticking...I was certain I'd miscarry again like the two previous times, and so far I'm 17 weeks and going strong. As you can see the thought of someone saying just relax drives me nutty!!

  4. Christina, I am the same way! I have gone off on presumably well-meaning relatives who suggested I might get pregnant if I just relax and stop thinking about it... I even went off on my own mother! lol

Whenever people tell me to just relax, I like to remind them that the first time I got pregnant was one of the most stressful times of my life (other than actually taking the bar exam) -- we closed on our house, moved everything we own, did some major demolition and home renovation projects, AND I was also studying for and taking my last semester of law school exams... ALL during that 2ww! That usually shuts them up. Haha!

I'm so glad you were finally able to "relax" enough to have a successful pregnancy! ;-) I think about you often and I have everything crossed that this little one stays put!
